Emma's Room

The room has really come together nicely. It is all ready for Emma to move in!

The paper lantern is one that Katelyn and I painted from the kit she got for Christmas from Uncle Mike, Aunt Kim, & Rachel. There was already a hook in the ceiling, so that kind of determined where we put it. It was Katelyn's idea to make it for Emma's room.

The window is kind of blown out, because that is snow out there, for all you southern readers that don't know what that is!! This weekend has been the snowiest weekend in Michigan. I couldn't see the houses next to us this morning. You know it is bad when the police are telling people not to go out on the roads HERE. They even shut down the malls and everything!! Thank goodness we got out for a little while last night.

We knocked a few more things off our our ever-growing list of things to buy before our trip. My plan is to buy a few things every time I go to Target. That shouldn't be much of a problem for me as I seem to find myself there a couple times a week! We need weird things, like tongs for sterilizing bottles in our hotel room in China. We didn't have any, so I guess now is a good time to buy some! Josh job is to make sure we have the weird manly things, like a little flashlight, an all-in-one tool (for widening the holes in the nipples if they aren't fast enough), a metal thermos for hot water when out and about (apparently the babies get their bottles really hot in the orphanage). It seems that most of the older babies are still on bottles from what I can tell from other's experiences. It also has the added benefit of helping with attachment, so we will continue Emma on the bottle as long as we can. I will have to talk about attachment stuff more in another post.

I will put more pictures of the room in the photo album. As always, you can always click on the picture in the post to view a larger version of it.
