Nesting and other tidbits . . .

This past week, my brother, Mark and his friend, Dave came up to Michigan to attend a conference.  They stayed with us and it was great to see him.  It's his birthday today, so a big "Happy Birthday" to Mark!!!

Anyways, some of you may know, but Josh had to have his appendix removed right after we got home from Christmas.  Yes, he is fine after his first surgery ever.  This meant that he could not climb into the dangerous precipice of our garage storage area and get all the baby "stuff" down for me as he is not supposed to be lifting anything.  So it was very convenient to have 2 young guys staying with us, namely Mark and Dave!  Mark risked his life to help me out, and I greatly appreciated it.  What a great brother, eh?

This turned into a day of nesting for me as I had 7 boxes of "stuff" that were all over my house.  Katelyn and I had fun washing all the baby toys in the bathtub.  She has enjoyed reliving her babyhood by playing with her Little People again.  We even found her old Elmos, so now we are an Elmo household again! (For Sarah G. if you read this, yes we still have that Baby Elmo as well!)   The crib is almost put together.  Some kind friends are letting us use theirs, which helps a lot!  Once I get the crib all done, I will take pictures of Emma's whole room and post them here.

I have started compiling packing lists, and getting together the things we need to take to China.  We all got shots yesterday for the trip, so all 3 of us had a sore arm!  We will need to apply for our visas soon.  It looks like we will not travel in February now, because Chinese New Year is February 18th.  It is similar to our Christmas break in China as people take a lot of time off the week before and after the new year.  I am hoping  we will travel early March.  We could get a travel approval anytime, but they may not be able to get us a (U.S) consulate appointment until March.  I will be ready though when we get that call!

Yeah, you're excited about "Melmo" now but wait till you hear,"Feed baby Elmo" about 1,000 times :) Sounds like you and Katelyn had fun getting into all those boxes! I'm very excited for you, Josh, and Katelyn.
Love ya, Sarah
