We are finally getting some sun around here in the frozen tundra, which makes this photographer mama very happy. There is nothing like that natural light for good photo ops. I am working on being a little more interactive with my subject to get her to have a natural pose. This one came about from the trick of close your eyes really tight and then "WAKE UP!" Something about closing your eyes will relax the face, and you can often get a more natural look after they open their eyes. Then we made some scary faces. That was fun too!

Emma is growing like crazy. I measured her the other day, and she has grown a whole inch since December. She is 34 1/2 inches now. Her speech is still improving. There are some words that she struggles with, but I think they will come with time. She sings "Twinkle, Twinkle" in her own words, and now she can sing "Happy Birthday". I have been letting her sleep with a little pillow at night in her crib, and she will lay right down on it and let me cover her up for bed. Then we have a little ritual where we have to give a few kisses between the crib rails.
Her latest thing that I believe she learned from Katelyn is to wipe kisses off. We make a game of it, where she will come up for kisses just so that she can wipe them off. I try to hold her hands and keep her from wiping them off, and she will giggle. As soon as I let go, she wipes them off. It is pretty cute, and I can't complain, because I get to smother her with kisses in the meantime.
She likes to be a helper, and if I ask her to do something, she says, "Okay" in the cutest little voice. She has started wanting to go to the potty whenever she gets in the bathtub, so we sit her on the seat and she will go pee. I think we are going to be potty training sooner than later. I may start putting her in some pull-ups when I feel like I have the energy to stay on top of it. We'll see. It may be easier when the weather warms up, and she can wear dresses more.
