I think we are all on the upward swing now. Katelyn has stayed healthy, and Emma has been fine since Tuesday. I came down with the sickies for the last couple of days, but I think I am doing better now too.
I had to go out for a bit today while Josh stayed home with the girls. It was so sweet to see how happy Emma was to see me when I got home. She was all smiles and hugs for Mama. They played outside while I was gone, and Josh said she likes to go like a wild girl. She loves it when all the neighbor kids are around. We have taken walks this week, but I had not ventured to letting her loose yet outdoors. Dad’s are good for breaking kids in with that kind of stuff. Ah, it should make for some fun days to come.
We have been getting into a routine of sorts. I have been giving her a massage with lotion every night before bed. For two nights in a row, she let me hold her while giving her the bottle. Previously, she would only take it if she were laying in the bed. Tonight, she even let Josh hold her to give her night-time bottle. We are making progress here! She goes down best if we do all of our routine in order. I have to make sure to have the right night lights on and the shades all the way down. Tonight she wanted to hear the Brahm’s Lullaby that her stuffed lamb plays about 7 or 8 times in a row. She would grab my hand and help me push the button. Then she finally drifted off to sleep.
Now if we can all just stay healthy, we will be doing good! I tell you, having this girl at home is the stuff that dreams are made of!!
