suck on your bottom lip before going to sleep.
mimic almost everything we do or say.
rub the silky part of your blanket and play with your taggie when you are sleepy.
tilt your head to look at us.
grab my hand to make me rub your hand on my face.
look when you are drinking yogurt. Your lips are so cute when they are puckered.
push off other people’s hands when you want your Mama to yourself.
yell for more noodles when we don’t feed you fast enough.
hold the remote control up to your ear like a phone.
sing la-la-la to yourself when there is music playing.
lay quietly in your bed when you are first waking up.
play peek-a-boo spontaneously when we are in the line at the store.
wave bye to just about anyone if you hear us saying goodbye.
smile at the camera and say "Mama!".
climb on your Jie-jie and romp on the bed.
hold my water bottle with me when I am taking a drink.
talk and wave to other babies that you see.
jump up and laugh when we are trying to lay you down for bed.
calm down and go to sleep quickly if all is quiet and we pat your belly.
try to put shoes on if you don’t have any on.
smile so readily at us all the time.
quickly learned to sign "more" when you want more food.
drink water so well.
love mushrooms like Mama.
play games with us like going back and forth between me and Baba while waiting for the elevator.
laugh at yourself in the mirror.

…and how awesome that you will discover more and more reasons to fall in love with your sweet Emma! She is more beautiful in person than any of the pictures…I kept thinking of her and you all this morning. It was so special to see you guys - I told my Dad it was a celebratory, touching, and tender time. Perhaps you have all slept for many, many hours?! Love you all!

Amy, thanks so much for your posts. This one touched my heart, as I think I sometimes take for granted the special things Cole does. Your sweet post about Emma and all of the things you love her for makes me think of all the things I love Cole for too! So glad you guys are home….and I look forward to reading more of your journey as a family! Love, Megan

Oh, Amy, how very sweet! Following you China trip from camp has been so wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your heart and letting me start to get to know Emma. I loved her from the moment I saw her first picture, and I fall in love more everytime I see a new picture or read about her. I can’t wait to meet her in person. I am thrilled beyond words for you all and I’m so thankful you are home safe and sound. Love to you all…
