I thought I would add an explanation for all you non-Kentucky people out there. Thunder Over Louisville is the beginning of the Derby Festival. It is the 2nd largest fireworks in the world. There is an air-show that is amazing all day and then the fireworks are at night. My aunt's family is able to get an apartment for the day in the Galt House Hotel w/ a balcony overlooking the Ohio River. We were able to join them this year, and it was my first time to see "Thunder". Katelyn had not seen it before either, so it was a real treat for both of us!! It truly feels like thunder, especially by the grand finale. Your whole body is shaking for the last few minutes. It goes for approximately 30 solid minutes and only quits for a few seconds before the grand finale. By that time you are just amazed that it can get even better than the part you have already seen. We really had a fabulous time!!!
