The Chinese New Year officially started January 29th and will last for 15 days. There are lots of traditions and festivals that go on during this time. It is exciting to learn all of these interesting traditions! Check out this link if you would like to learn more.
On more exciting news, we finally have our LID (the date our dossier was logged in with the Chinese Center for Adoptive Affairs). It is, drumroll please, December 20th. That means we are officially over 1 month into the wait. It was logged in only 15 days after it was sent--that is really good!!!
Also, Groups 117, 118, & 119 at Adoption Assoc. all received their referrals last week. Fourteen families have pictures and information on their sweet babies. Supposedly group 120 is in the Matching room right now. Congratulations to all of these families!!!!
***Edited to Clarify:
All families all over the US and the world that were logged in from April 26-May 13, 2005 got their referrals last week too, not just our agency. I was just specifically congratulating those from Adoption Assoc.
We are in Group 128, so that means we are 9 groups behind, not necessarily 9 months behind. It all depends on if they get a group of referrals every month or not. If they go a month without getting a group's referrals, that adds to our time. If they get more than one group's referrals in a month that could lessen our time. Does that make any more sense? So what does that mean? It means we have no idea how long this process could take, but we are in for the duration and trust that we will have our daughter at the end of the wait . . . however long that may be. Until then, we wait patiently. At least it isn't an elephant's pregnancy. They have like a 22 month gestation period--YIKES!!
