Letter of Intent

Our letter of intent to adopt Yi Shan was sent out on Monday, December 11th.  There was just a little confusion about the translation of her province, so it took a couple more days to confirm the information before sending the letter to China.  The wait for PA from the time you send the letter is anywhere from 12-48 days.    Hopefully we will have a little Christmas or New Years present from China called a Pre-Approval (PA).  This is notice that you have officially been matched to that child.

Then there are the couple of people this last month who receive a Travel Notice in 23 and 27 days and never even received a Pre-Approval.  Freaky, huh??   I was looking at their dates and they are very similar to ours in that they were already through the review room when they sent their LOI (letter of intent) and their LID's (Log-in-Dates) were very similar to ours.  Of course there are others who waited 59-75 days for their Travel Notice, so their really is no telling how it will go.  The days waiting are from the time they sent their LOI to China.  Of course, I can always hope for that 23 or 27 day wait!!  Time will tell.

Meanwhile, I will just keep watching the dates on the Waiting Children China yahoo group and scrutinizing them.  One of the moderators there makes a spreadsheet with everyones dates on it and keeps the averages of wait times for us. It is a very cool document.
