Those BIG Tonsils are gone

No idea what is about to come, but cute in her surgery gown.

Well, Emma Mei did well for the surgery and the recovery. Grumpy, but not screaming. I had some foresight to bring the iPod, so that she could watch Ni Hao Kai Lan while we had to wait during recovery. If the headphones weren't just right though, we had some fussing. I held her in the chair for the whole 2 hours in there.

The biggest struggle was getting her to take the Tylenol w/ Codeine. I am pretty sure it burned her, and she fought us tooth and nail to take it. We used up two doses every time just trying to get one dose down her. Let's just say it was traumatic! After two days of fighting it, getting my finger bit, and not being able to get it down after 3 tries, we decided to go to regular Tylenol. She took it just fine, but it didn't take all of the edge off. She was a bit down the next day, but she is one tough cookie.

The last couple of days have been a bit rough, but she seems to be better today. The scabs are starting to dry out and that can be painful too. She saw the ENT for follow up yesterday, and everything looks good. So hopefully we are almost through the rough parts. The ENT said her adenoids were not that big, but that those BIG tonsils had to come out. They basically covered the entire back of her throat. I think he mentions how big her tonsils were every time we see him! Tubes are looking good too.
