Cinderella by Day, Doggie by night!!

Katelyn was Cinderella for her school party and parade and a pink doggie for our annual Trick or Treating with friends. We had a lot of fun on both days. She got 77 pieces of candy. Yes, we counted them.

On the adoption front, our home study report came in last week and all the paperwork was sent to immigrations (USCIS). So, now we wait for the elusive I-171-H that tells us we are approved to bring our daughter to the US from China. When that comes, we can have all of our paperwork sealed by Michigan and the Chinese Consulate in Chicago. We have a few papers that we need to complete here at home, like our adoption petition and such, but we are really just waiting on immigrations. It can take up to 8 weeks, so I am gonna need some patience!!

I have had a few ladybug sightings these last few days. The warm weather we have had must be bringing them out. One of the ladybugs got in my car with me yesterday and rode around for a while. They make me think of the book that we got from Poppy, Shaoey & Dot. Thank you, Poppy!! I can hardly get through it without a few tears, but we really love it!! It is beautifully written and illustrated.

We also live in West Michigan.
We sent in our homestudy to INS
October 26 and were fingerprinted
last Saturday. We had sent our
I600A form in September 30th and
it took weeks to receive our fingerprint appointment. We heard
the wait time for approval was 3
months or longer. I was hoping you
might know something we don't when
you mention 8 weeks. This waiting is killing me already!

Hi, Lisa and Jeff. We sent in our I600A in August and were able to get fingerprinted pretty much right away. We had been fortunate to be under Officer Teske in St. Saulte Marie for our fingerprinting appointment and were able to do it before our homestudy. I think now that the USCIS office is in Detroit and people are having to wait until after the homestudy to be fingerprinted, that it why it is taking so long. Our consultant at our agency told us we were lucky. Sorry to hear that you didn't get in before the office moved. Maybe you'll get it quicker than they say! Supposedly the new office was going to be able to work faster, maybe they will get it in gear soon!
